Colin Bentley

British Artist

Colin Bentley | Fine Artist

I struggled academically throughout my education because of dyslexia, but art was a subject where I thrived.

From an early age, I wanted to be an artist.

After studying a Fine Art Painting degree at Birmingham School of Art, I moved to Devon. It was here where I fell in love with its stunning coastline – a constant source of inspiration.

After university, I spent 15 years working in education, a job that I still miss today. Teaching children with additional needs was immensely rewarding.

In my early 40’s, I decided to have one final go at becoming a professional artist – something I imagined was out of my reach. To my surprise, the first exhibition was a huge success and I’ve been working in the studio ever since.

I now spend my time working on portraits, landscapes, seascapes and illustration – it’s great having a busy studio and a career that I really love.

There is no doubt – I’m an incredibly lucky artist.
